Fire destroyed a stand-alone garage at a home on Buck Hill Road outside of Mount Jackson, and heat from the blaze slightly damaged the nearby house. Fire had started to spread into the nearby woods, but Virginia Department of Forestry made a quick response and kept the fire from turning into a wildland fire.Responding to the fire were Mount Jackson Rescue and Fire Department, Conicville Volunteer Fire Department, Orkney Springs Fire and Rescue, Woodstock Rescue Squad, Virginia Department of Forestry, and SCFR.
